The annual 'Run for the Animals' to benefit Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville will be happening this year as a virtual race.
Sign up at animalsanctuary.org, and then do the run or walk on your own...when you want, where you want!
Normally the race is a 5k. You can do that distance, or whatever distance you're most comfortable doing.

The race supports the more than 250 rescued animals at Poplar Spring. If you're inspired, do some additional fundraising! Prizes will be awarded to the top two fundraisers.
The race was scheduled for Sunday, May 17, so on that day at 1 p.m. Terry Cummings, co-founder of Poplar Spring, will be giving a virtual tour of the sanctuary via Facebook Live.
