It was fun talking to Gary Pihl from Boston! He's excited to be coming to D.C. this summer for the BIG Concert.
He shared many great stories about his years with Boston (he's been with the band since 1985), his days with Sammy Hagar's band, growing up around the San Francisco psychedelic scene in the '60s, and taking guitar lessons from Jerry Garcia!
Check out the interview below.
One thing I found fascinating is that he and Boston's Tom Scholz (the genius behind Boston) are both long-time vegetarians and animal advocates. In fact, one dollar from every ticket sold goes to benefit two great organizations, Mercy for Animals and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Boston will headline the BIG Concert at Jiffy Lube Live on Sunday, July 30 with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts opening the show.
Listen to BIG 100 to win your tickets, and tickets are on sale now here.
Hope to see you at the show!
