White kicked off his Boarding House Reach tour with two shows in his hometown. Midway through Thursday's show, the former White Stripes front man invited his mother, Teresa Gillis, to join him in singing backup vocals on the White Stripes "Hotel Yorba". They also danced a polka.
Later, White changed out of his polka dotted shirt for a high school jersey from his alma mater, Cass Technical High School, baring his name.
