(Vienna, VA) -- A northern Virginia high school marching band is getting their rock star moment after winning a big prize in an online contest.
The Oakton High School Marching Cougars were selected as the winners of the small high school category in the "For Whom the Band Tolls" contest.
Bands were challenged to create performances using the music of Metallica, and professional judges decided the winners in each group. The high school will get 15-thousand dollars in musical equipment provided by contest sponsors.
