LISA'S ANIMAL TALES: AIRPORT DOG FINALLY FOUND

A traveler's dog that got loose on the tarmac at Atlanta's Hartfield-Jackson Airport last month before going missing, has finally been found.

Paula Rodriguez was traveling from the Dominican Republic to California with her pooch Maia on August 18th. During a layover in Atlanta, Rodriguez was turned away at customs and detained awaiting a return flight home. But Maia was not allowed to stay with her in detention and somehow got out of her carrier and onto the tarmac.

Crews searched the airport but never found her ... until this weekend. The lost dog was finally discovered hiding in a cargo facility. It's believed she spent the last 24 days there.

Airport officials say she was "tired but in apparent good health" and was taken to a vet for a checkup. They are now working on returning her to her owner.
