China's New Anal Swab Test for COVID Demonstrated on Dummy in Video

China recently started using a new method to test for COVID which has some people raising their eyebrows. Instead of swabbing a persons nasal cavity or tonsils, the new method is an anal swab.

One scientist says, "it's not nice but it makes sense," because the method supposedly provides a much more accurate test result because of studies claiming the virus can be detected longer in the digestive system than the respiratory system.

The swabs are inserted approximately 1-2 inches into a person's rectum, swirled around, then removed and sent to a lab for testing.

A video clip shared to social media shows a demonstration of the new method on a training dummy. The whole process takes about 10 seconds to complete.

Would you go for this method over having a swab shoved up your nostril until it touches your brain? Let us know in the comments on Facebook!
