ABC7NY: A man went on a violent rampage inside a Bloomingdale's store in Norwalk, Connecticut, destroying the cosmetics department and assaulting a security guard before he was finally apprehended.
Police say the man, identified as Justin Gilbertie, entered the Bloomingdale's store inside the SoNo Collection Mall around 6:45pm on Tuesday and began wrecking display units and products.
He was approached by a security guard but Gilbertie punched the guard and continued his destructive path. Another security guard pepper sprayed Gilbertie to little effect.
Police officers arrived and were able to arrest Gilbertie after a brief struggle. He is being charged with third-degree assault, criminal mischief, interfering with an officer and breach of peace.
The store has since reopened.
