Wildlife officers in Arlington, Virginia responded to one of the most unusual calls they've ever received.
An owl had somehow gotten tangled up with a turtle and they couldn't free themselves. Someone notice the owl was having trouble flying and called animal control. When officers arrived, they noticed that one of the owl's claws was stuck inside the turtle's shell and couldn't get it out.
Officers safely placed the twisted duo into a carrier and transported them to their shelter where vets were able to separate them. The owl suffered a minor injury and the turtle was unharmed. They've each been turned over to a licensed animal rehabilitator who will care for them until they are ready to be released back into the wild.
