Bugatti is claiming bragging rights after one of its production model cars topped 300 miles per hour on a German test track.
That's a record for a vehicle off the assembly line, even a specially modified one. According to parent company Volkswagen, the prototype Bugatti Chiron actually reached a speed just shy of 305 miles per hour. The car was equipped with specially developed Michelin tires and the body was modified to improve aerodynamics.
A standard Bugatti Chiron will set you back three-million dollars and has a top speed of about 260 miles per hour.
