Flea has upset some Red Hot Chili Peppers fans looking forward to his memoir, Acid for the Children.
When his publisher first announced a publication date back in the spring, it said the book was "complete with all the dizzying highs and the gutter lows you’d expect from an L.A. street rat-turned-world-famous rock star." But in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Flea says, "It’s my great hope that it could be a book that could live beyond being a celebrity book or a rock star book and just stand on its own as a piece of literature. It ends where the Red Hot Chili Peppers begins.”
That declaration about not covering his time in the band spawned a big Reddit thread filled with fans who pre-ordered the memoir angry that the band isn't featured. Acid for the Children will be published on November 27th.
Maybe he plans on doing a sequel?
