There have been many rumors over the years regarding the return to action of former Journey singer Steve Perry -- these new ones seem to have some teeth.
The reports started surfacing last week on social media via Perry news and fan sites and even in a tweet from the band Toad the Wet Sprocket, which posted a short clip of Perry -- who was reportedly rehearsing next door -- singing with them in their rehearsal studio. In the body they asked, "What do you say when Steve Perry crashes your tour rehearsal and wants to sing?" They then answered their own question in one word: "YES!"
On Friday, Perry's official Facebook page posted a photos taken this week in Hanford, California, the San Joaquin Valley town where he grew up. It also announced that he'd been there for an interview with CBS Sunday Morning that will air on October 7th. He'd gone to a number of sites there, including the Hanford Fox Theater and Superior Dairy, where photos had been taken.
Lastly, a fan site quoted a tweet from someone they say had music business connections that Perry's long-awaited album, which was supposedly set to come out last year, will be out this fall. However, neither Perry nor his official Facebook page have commented on this yet, nor does any other confirmation appear to be available at this time.
Perry first announced details of a new album last year and said it would be released during 2017, but it never appeared and Perry has never explained what happened to it.
