A service dog named Ellie surprised her guardians and fellow travelers at the Tampa International Airport by giving birth to eight puppies.
Ellie, a two-year-old golden retriever, was set to board a flight to Philadelphia, when the dog suddenly went into labor.
Paramedics were called over to help and took over for bystanders who had stepped in to assist. One nurse in the crowd was actually able to help Ellie deliver five of the puppies before leaving to catch her flight.
After that, members of the Tampa Fire Rescue finished the job, keeping both Ellie and her babies safe -- and then allowing Ellie to nurse her pups.
