Ric Ocasek and Paulina Porizkova are splitting up after more than 28 years of marriage.
The Cars frontman and the former supermodel met in 1984 during the filming of the band's "Drive" video. They married in 1989. They looked so happy together at the Cars' recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Paulina revealed on Instagram yesterday that they have been "peacefully separated for the past year" and added, "Our family always has been — and still is — a well-built car. But as a bicycle, my husband and I no longer pedal in unison. So we're ditching the bicycle."
Ric and Paulina have two sons together -- one 19, one in his mid-20s. This will be his third divorce.
At least there doesn't appear to be any animosity with their split.
