A British guy spent more than a year in America running the route Forrest Gump ran in the 1994 movie.
39-year-old Rob Pope spent 409 days running over 15,000 miles -- the equivalent of 590 marathons -- becoming the first person to take on the challenge.
He started in Mobile, Alabama, and -- while running about 40 miles a day -- had to deal with freezing temperatures, heat waves and a number of injuries. Not surprisingly, he also admitted that the repetition and loneliness made things more mentally tough than he expected.
