GRAMMY NOMINATIONS FOR CLASSIC ROCKERS


The nominations for the 60th annual Grammy Awards were announced this morning, and among those recognized were Gregg Allman, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

Dylan's last studio album, Triplicate, is up for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Leonard Cohen's "You Want It Darker" is one of the nominees for Best Rock Performancealong with "Run" from the Foo Fighters and "The Promise" from Chris Cornell. Cohen also has a nomination in the Best American Roots Performance category for "Steer Your Way."



Metallica's "Atlas, Rise!" is up for Best Rock Song along with "Run" from the Foo Fighters. Metallica also got a nod in the Best Rock Album category for Hardwired...To Self-Destruct.

Gregg Allman scored two nominations -- Best American Roots Song for "My Only True Friend" and Best Americana Album for his last album, Southern Blood.


The Rolling Stones are one of the finalists for Best Traditional Blues Album for Blue & Lonesome. And Live From The Fox Oakland from the Tedeschi Trucks Band is nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

Cat Stevens is a nominee for Best Folk Album for The Laughing Apple.

Bruce Springsteen's narration of his memoir, Born to Run, is up for Best Spoken Word Album.

Roger Waters' last album, Is This the Life We Really Want, has been nominated for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

And The Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip, is up for Best Music Film.

The 60th annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 28th at Madison Square Garden in New York. You can watch it on CBS.
