There's a lot of history in this building. I attended the 1996 Summer Olympic Games at the Georgia Dome. This was one of the nation’s largest domed stadiums, and host to two Super Bowls, an NCAA Final Four, and countless Falcons games.
After this morning's implosion, it's now a pile of rubble.
Nearly 5,000 pounds of explosives were used in the blast, which toppled the building in about 15 seconds.
The dome opened in 1992 and has been replaced by the $1.6 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium next door.
