LISTEN: Original Lead Singer of Journey

Legendary keyboardist and vocalist Gregg Rolie, the original lead singer of Journey, checked in to talk about his second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

He was first inducted as a member of Santana in 1998. He's the voice you hear on many of Santana's biggest hits like Evil Ways, Black Magic Woman, and Oye Como Va.

He left Santana with Neal Schon to form Journey in 1973. He was with the band until 1980 and did most of the lead vocals for Journey between 1973 and 1977, when Steve Perry joined the band. He shared vocal duties with Steve Perry from 1977-1980. When Gregg left Journey in 1980, Jonathan Cain took over on keyboards.

Gregg will perform with Journey at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

We had a great time talking about Santana, Journey, Steve Perry, Ringo Starr (Gregg continues to tour with the All-Star Band) and lots more! Check out the interview below.
