The person responsible for what's being called the "biggest screwup in Oscar history" has been identified.
TMZ says Brian Cullinan -- an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers -- was "supposed to discard the spare Best Actress envelope and hand Warren [Beatty] Best Picture." But apparently Brian was distracted because he was "tweeting like crazy during the ceremony," and he handed off the wrong envelope. One of the since-deleted tweets was a pic of Emma Stone with her Oscar, taken just moments before the mix-up. As TMZ points out, "If it was tweeted right after her win, that's exactly when Brian should've been prepping for the next category ... Best Picture."
PricewaterhouseCoopers has worked on the Oscars for 80 years.
