Dave Davies has just revealed that he and his brother Ray put aside their differences to work together last year.
He tells Billboard they "wrote quite a few demos at Ray's house" and adds that they "sound[ed] good."
But don't take that to mean a Kinks reunion is in the offing. Dave says, "I've given up wanting to even try and analyze it. If it happens, it happens. It's just one of those unknowables. But just the fact that we get together and try it has got to be good, right?"
Both Ray and Dave have new albums on the way. Dave's Open Road, which he recorded with his son Russell, comes first, on March 31st. No word yet when Ray's next album will be out.
Dave is featured in the new Smithsonian TV series Rock 'n' Roll Inventions, which premieres tonight at 8 p.m.
