Dave Grohl makes his directorial debut in a new documentary called What Drives Us.
The documentary was first announced last year upon the news of Foo Fighters’ 25th anniversary ‘Van Tour’, which ended up being cancelled due to COVID-19.
It was supposed to premiere each night of that tour but is now part of The Coda Collection in the US and Amazon Prime elsewhere.
Some of the interviews in the film are with Rock Royalty such as Ringo Starr, AC/DC, St. Vincent, Flea, The Edge, Lars Ulrich, and more!
Dave said: “This film is my love letter to every musician that has ever jumped in an old van with their friends and left it all behind for the simple reward of playing music."
“What started as a project to pull back the curtain on the DIY logistics of stuffing all of your friends and equipment into a small space for months on end eventually turned into an exploration of ‘why?’ What drives us?’”
