At least one eagle-eyed reporter has noticed something different about the Oval Office since Joe Biden has assumed the presidency: It no longer contains a Diet Coke lifeline.
London Timesreporter Tom Newton Dunn says, "When I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did. Eventually Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter." The New York Times later confirmed Dunn's account, writing that Trump summoned the White House staff "via a button for lunch or for one of the dozen Diet Cokes he consumes each day."
However, after viewing photos of Biden in the Oval Office, Dunn realized the button is now gone. That's not to say it hasn't been relocated or even replaced with a new button that calls for Biden's favorite treat: vanilla ice cream.
Wouldn't it have been more cost efficient to put a small fridge in the Oval Office? Do you enjoy being waited on?
