My social life is very basic...John and I have friends over to swim and grill...we go to their houses...he and I will typically hit the same bar once a week to play video game Golden Tee (we call it our "date night")...I mean, it's fulfilling but it's not exactly what you might call "exciting".
So for us to do something different, to "step outta our comfort zone"...well, it just doesn't happen very often. But it did this past weekend. Friends invited us to a new brewery in Mt. Airy (MD) to play what's called "Pour House Trivia" (I had played before but we're talking 10 years ago)...I consider myself to be pretty knowledgable about entertainment/pop culture...John is good with history and sports, so we figured we had something to contribute to our team.
There are 4 rounds to each game...and at halftime, we were in 7th place (outta 14 teams)...after Round 4, at the end of the game...WE CAME IN SECOND PLACE! We couldn't believe we had done so well!!! And we will definitely be playing again.
The lesson here is: don't be afraid to try something new! You just might have fun and find a new hobby!
