LINKIN PARK's Shinoda Calls Bennington a "Fun, Happy Guy"

The late Chester Bennington was known for putting his personal pain into Linkin Park's lyrics, but in an L.A. radio interview, his bandmate Mike Shinoda insists there was another side to Chester that wasn't as widely known.

He calls Bennington "such a happy guy" and "such a fun guy. When he'd walk in the room, there was such a positive, funny, upbeat energy." Shinoda says they hope to bring that side of Chester out at their October 27th tribute show at the Hollywood Bowl. Although he expects it to be "a roller coaster of emotion," Shinoda says that the band has discussed this aspect of the show and realizes "it's really about...celebrating life."
