Chris Cornell will live on in statue form in his hometown of Seattle.
Vicky Cornell told the Seattle Times she hired Wayne Toth, who created the Johnny Ramone statue that stands at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, to create one of the late Soundgarden singer. It should take about seven months to make. Seattle attorney and Cornell family friend Mark Johnson is working with the city to select a location.
Vicky Cornell said she wanted fans to have input on where the statue should be placed. She added, "He is Seattle’s son and we will be bringing him home and honoring him, I hope, with all of you, your love and support."
