Dave Grohl sent a note to a widower who was planning to mark his 10th wedding anniversary with his wife at the Foo Fighters set at England's Glastonbury festival.
Laura Plane, a schoolteacher from Plymouth, England, died of breast cancer late last month after suffering from the disease for eight years. Jon Plane reached out to the band and asked them to dedicate "Everlong" to Laura at Glastonbury. The request went viral and Grohl responded with a note that said, "Jon -- Dave here. Heard about Laura. Sending you much love and hope and light. Will be thinking of yous at Glasto. Take care mate."
The Foo Fighters will headline the long-running English festival on June 24th.
Jon Plane told the Plymouth Herald, "I can picture Laura’s little face smiling about it. It is incredible. I am over the moon." Very cool.
