Beware Of This Text Scam From Your "Bank". It Could Cost You Thousands Of Dollars (Video)

A new text scam is circulating, in which fraudsters spoof your bank's mobile number.

The text will say that your debit card has been used in a shop somewhere, and asks you to call a fraud prevention helpline if you don't recognize the transaction.

When you call the number, the fraudsters will ask you to 'confirm' your bank information, allowing them to swindle a lot of money from your account.

In some cases, banks have apparently refused to refund the money, on the grounds that it was not their error.

This style of text message scamming is known as smishing and it is the new phishing.
