Crayola Is Retiring One of Its 24 Core Colors For the First Time Ever

Friday will be retirement day for one Crayola color.

The crayon maker announced it will be getting rid of one color, but hasn't revealed which one. That announcement will be made on Friday, which is National Crayon Day. The company will also announce a replacement for the banished color at that time. Until then, crayon users and those who feel a sense of nostalgia for them, are speculating about which color will be discontinued. The current colors in the 24-box include: red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, green, violet, black, carnation pink, yellow orange, blue green, red violet, red orange, yellow green, blue violet, white, violet red, dandelion, cerulean, apricot, scarlet, green yellow, indigo and gray.

It's hard to imagine that any of the primary colors will be cut. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and black should be safe.
