David Cassidy is Suffering from Dementia

After a disastrous performance Saturday night in L.A., DAVID CASSIDY is laying some heavy news on us.  He's battling DEMENTIA.  He told "People" magazine that his grandfather and his mother had it, and, quote, "I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming."

Cassidy is 66, and he is indeed going to stop touring to concentrate on what's important.  He said, quote, "I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I've been without any distractions.  I want to love.  I want to enjoy life."

David's "Partridge Family" co-star DANNY BONADUCE tweeted, quote, "David Cassidy once had a bigger fan club than Elvis & the Beatles.  If you're a fan, now is a great time to send him your love & best wishes."
