Eric Clapton will host his seventh Crossroads Guitar Festival, and first one in California, this Saturday and Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Joining him are Stephen Stills, ZZ Top, Santana, Jimmie Vaughan, Roger McGuinn, Los Lobos, Gary Clark Junior, Jakob Dylan, Vince Gill, John Mayer and many, many others.
Robbie Robertson was also scheduled, but passed away in August, and Buddy Guy had to pull out because of a "standard medical issue."
Not all artists will perform on both nights.
Proceeds benefit Clapton's rehab facility, Crossroads Centre, which he founded in 1998 on the Caribbean island of Antigua. He says the time was right for another festival as the facility took a big hit during the pandemic, even shutting down for a while.
Both shows will be available on all major cable and satellite systems including Xfinity, Spectrum, Contour, DIRECTV, DISH, Optimum and Fios. It will also be streamed worldwide on FITE, PPV.COM and Nugs.net.
The previous festivals were held in:
- 1999 - New York - Madison Square Garden - billed as Eric Clapton & Friends in Concert: A Benefit for the Crossroads Centre at Antigua and featuring Bob Dylan, Mary J. Blige, David Sanborn and Sheryl Crow (who's done five and will be there this year)
- 2004 - Dallas - Cotton Bowl
- 2007 - Bridgeview, IL - Toyota Park
- 2010 - Bridgeview, IL - Toyota Park
- 2013 - New York - Madison Square Garden
