Sammy Hagar, after once saying he would do everything possible to take part in a tribute show for Eddie Van Halen, and then saying "I don't think I'd go back there," now wants to go back there.

The flip flops-wearing singer tells Rolling Stone, "I would love it if Dave [Lee Roth] wanted to do a tribute where he’d sing 10 of his songs, and then I’d come out and do 10 of mine. Look at what Dave [Grohl] just did for Taylor [Hawkins]. That’s one of the greatest events in rock history. That’s right up there with the early Farm Aids, and right up there with Live Aid. That was a great event, and that could be done for Ed with everybody playing.”

There has been talk of a Van Halen tribute tour with Roth, Alex Van HalenMichael Anthony and a cast of shredding guitarists, including Joe Satriani and Steve Lukather, but nothing has been announced.

Eddie died on October 6th, 2020 from cancer. He was 65.
