A few years back, Ringo Starr said he was done recording albums and would concentrate on EPs and he's sticking to it.
On September 16th, he'll release his third one since March of last year.
Simply titled EP3, it contains four new songs, all recorded in his Roccabella West studio at his home in Los Angeles.
Ringo says, “I am in my studio writing and recording every chance I get. It’s what I have always done and will continue to do, and releasing EPs more frequently allows me to continue to be creative and give each song a little more love.”
The first single, out now, is "World Go Round," which was written by Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, who is also a member of Ringo's All Starr Band, and Toto singer Joseph Williams.
The other three are:
- "Everyone and Everything," written by Linda Perry
- “Let’s Be Friends,“ written by Ringo’s longtime engineer Bruce Sugar along with Sam Hollander
- "Free Your Soul," written by Ringo and Bruce Sugar with Dave Koz on tenor sax
The release of EP3 on September 16th is digital -- the CD, 10-inch vinyl and limited-edition translucent royal blue cassette will follow on November 18th.
Ringo's two EPs last year were Zoom In and Change the World.
He'll be back on the road with his All Starr Band starting September 5th in Lenox, Massachusetts.
