The Rolling Stones started their Sixty -- 60th anniversary -- tour Wednesday night in Madrid, Spain at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Like last year's U.S. tour, they started with "Street Fighting Man" and ended with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." Sixteen of the 17 songs in between were many of same with the one notable exception being the first-ever performance of "Out of Time" off their 1966 album, Aftermath.
While it wasn't a hit for the Stones, the version produced that same year by Mick Jagger for British singer Chris Farlowe went to number-one in the U.K. It features Jimmy Page on guitar.
The Stones included a shorter alternative mix on their 1967 compilation album, Flowers, and a third version with Jagger's lead vocal and the orchestration and backing vocals from Farlowe's version was included on their 1975 rarities collection, Metamorphosis.
The Stones have also been rehearsing another song from 1966 -- "Mother's Little Helper," which they haven't performed since that year.
During the show, Mick Jagger also wished Ronnie Wood a happy 75th birthday by leading the 53,000 fans in a sing-a-long of "Happy Birthday." Wednesday's show also marked the 42nd anniversary of Woody's first performance with the band as a new member after replacing Mick Taylor -- June 1st, 1975 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was given a standing ovation while confetti rained down.
The Sixty tour moves over to Munich, Germany on Sunday. They have a total of 14 shows scheduled through July 31st in Stockholm, Sweden.
