Mom Delivers Textbook Tackle of Man Suspected of Peeping in Daughter's Room

A mom in the Houston area is being heralded after she stopped a suspected peeper who allegedly was looking into her teenage daughter's bedroom. She tackled the man and it was caught on video.

"First instinct was just to make sure he didn't go any further," says the mom, Phyllis Pena. The takedown was caught on a police officer's dashcam.

Pena says she was returning home from the store on the morning of January 31st when she saw a man peeking into the window from the front yard. Her 15-year-old daughter was not home at the time. Pena called the police.

Lake Jackson Police responded, and identified the man and located him nearby. Upon seeing the officers, police say 19-year-old Zane Hawkins tried to run away. But mom was standing outside nearby and made her move.

"The cop fist-bumped me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker,’" Pena said.

Hawkins was arrested and was charged with possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting arrest, according to a police spokesperson.
