A Texas man has been arrested and charged in the murder of his wife who died on October 21st.
Investigators claim 48-year-old Trent Paschal of La Marque ambushed and murdered his wife, 30-year-old Savannah Paschal. One of Paschal's neighbors says he saw the two arguing the morning of the crime, and Trent left the house. Savannah also left the house and went to a neighbor's house.
According to court documents, Savannah returned home later that morning with her mother, but Trent had also returned ahead of her and was hiding in the master bathroom shower. Trent then jumped out of the shower and shot Savannah twice in the stomach while her mother was able to escape.
Court documents say a neighbor recorded Trent speaking on the phone with his wife's aunt after the shooting, and that this recording contained Trent "confessing that he shot Savannah."
Later that evening, Trent apparently uploaded a video to YouTube. In it, he apologizes to his two children and seems to reveal that infidelity was the primary cause for the actions he took.
At the end of the four-minute clip, Trent abruptly stops speaking and runs to presumably hide. Some believe the video was recorded shortly before the murder took place.
Paschal was caught by a Harris County sheriff's deputy. After refusing the officer's orders to put down his gun, Paschal was shot by the deputy. He is expected to survive.
He will be transferred to Galveston County once he has recovered enough from his injuries.
