TMZ has reported that longtime Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham will not take part in Fleetwood Mac's rumored upcoming world tour and that the decision is "final and firm."
No reason was given for Buckingham's departure. He joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974 along with Stevie Nicks. Buckingham left the band before in 1987, citing strains within the band and a desire to work on solo material as the reason. He would rejoin the band in 1996 when Fleetwood Mac reunited their Rumours-era lineup and had been part of the lineup until now.
Band member Christine McVey says she and Buckingham still plan to tour together to promote their album Lindsey Buckingham Christine McVey which was released in 2017.
