An original lineup reunion of The Smashing Pumpkins that has been alluded to for over a year now seems like it won't be happening according to one former member of the band.
Former bass player D'Arcy Wretzky spoke with Blast Echo via text where she said,
My apologies to the Smashing Pumpkins fans out there who are excited about this oncoming reunion tour of the original members of the band. I know this is a huge disappointment for me, as well, but it's not going to happen... I only just found about yesterday that the band has decided to go with a different bass player.
According to Wretzky, the other three original members, Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin are planning to tour this summer. The three were recently seen together in a recording studio in Los Angeles.
The band has yet to comment on the remarks made by D'Arcy.
