After postponing 29 shows last fall due to a peptic ulcer, Bruce Springsteen resumed his tour Monday night in Phoenix at the Footprint Center arena with a 29-song set, and, according to Billboard, he finally tweaked the set list, which fans were complaining was the same night after night.
According to the trade publication, "tour mainstays from the earlier leg, such as the funky 'The E Street Shuffle' and the jazzy seven-minute 'Kitty’s Back' (both from 1973’s The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle), and six songs from Springsteen’s last album of original material, 2020’s Letter to You [were trimmed to four, and] replaced with tunes that make for a fast-paced, non-stop thrill ride of a show."
Those added included "Glory Days," "Darlington County" and a cover of "Twist and Shout."
He made mention of last year's postponement at the end of the show, saying he was sorry for inconveniencing anyone by having to move the show, explaining that he had a "[MFer] of a bellyache.”
The next stop is Las Vegas on Friday. The U.S. leg runs through April 21st in Columbus, Ohio before heading to the U.K. and Europe from May 5th in Wales through July 27th in London. It's then back to North America from August 15th in Pittsburgh through November 22nd in Vancouver.
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band are scheduled to play Nationals Park on September 7 and Camden Yards on September 13.
