LISA'S ANIMAL TALES: BABY OWLS SAVED AT GNR FESTIVAL SHOW

Guns n' Roses inadvertently saved the lives of two baby owls while headlining the Glastonbury Festival in England last month.

A fan stumbled upon one of baby chicks while GNR were performing at the Pyramid Stage. The fan told the on-site security about the owl -- which he dubbed Axl after Axl Rose. The owl was eventually taken to the Secret World Wildlife Rescue in Somerset. The next day another baby owl was found in the same spot, named Slash and taken to the same rescue and reunited with its sibling.

A spokesman for Secret World said that since the stage stays up all year, the owls probably found it a good place to make a nest. But that it appeared as if the owls’ parents "abandoned their nest once festival preparation began," meaning it was “difficult to say how long the chicks were left alone."

Slash, who supports many animal organizations, shared a picture of the owls on his Instagram on Wednesday.
