Rankings of the best debut album and even best sophomore effort are common, but how about a ranking of the best 12th album by a band?
Music website Ultimate Classic Rock ranks "Let It Be" by The Beatles at the top of its "Rock's 40 Best 12th Albums" list. A pair of solo Beatles' 12th albums made the cut as Paul McCartney's "Pipes of Peace" ranked 36th and George Harrison's posthumous album "Brainwashed" came in at number 20.
The rankings also include 12th albums by acts not necessarily in the mainstream, such as Wilco, Drive-By Truckers and Government Mule.
