The Beatles' deluxe reissue of their 1966 album, Revolver, is out now.
The five-CD and four-LP and seven-inch single box sets come with a remix of the album, two discs of outtakes, a new transfer of the mono mix from the original master tape, and an EP of the 1966 single with "Paperback Writer" and "Rain."
Like the previous deluxe reissues of --Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles (White Album), Abbey Road and Let it Be -- Revolver was overseen by their original producer George Martin's son, Giles Martin.
Giles says that had it not been for the Get Back documentary and the pandemic, this project may not have been reissued just yet, because it gave them time to develop the latest audio technology to be able to separate the instrumentation and vocals on the original recordings.
When it came to which outtakes to include, Giles says he tried to choose enough material to give you a sense of the creation of the album.
Revolver is the first Beatles reissue box set that doesn't include a Blu-Ray or DVD with high resolution audio or a Dolby Atmos mix. That mix will be available on Apple Music and other streaming services.
There is also also be a two CD version with a disc of outtakes, plus CD and vinyl versions of the remix.
