A charity group based in Grand Ledge, Michigan, called Canines for Change, has a mission of brightening the days of people in hospitals and schools.

The group is now helping students at Northwest Community Schools in the city of Jackson by sending fluffy “facility dogs” in for special training visits.

A beagle named Miggz is one of two dogs learning on the job at school as the students -- and teachers -- are winding down their school year.

First grade teacher Tracy Ledford is thrilled to have a dog like Miggz on campus, explaining, “Even the staff light up when she walks him down the halls. It’s been unreal.”

Everyone involved is excited for Miggz -- and the other dogs-in-training -- to get their certification and continue to put smiles on the faces of kids and adults alike when the new school year starts up again in fall.
