A brawl broke out on an Allegiant Air flight over the weekend over, you guessed it, masks.
One man wore a face shield on the flight but refused to wear a face mask that the airline requires for passengers.
The video clip starts as a younger man in a black shirt can be seen cussing at and tearing out the old man's hair. He punches the man as employees attempt to break up the fight.
According to Allegiant, all passengers are required to wear proper face masks and face shields cannot be used as a lone substitute.
The woman who witnessed the fight and who uploaded the clip to Instagram, Rylie Lansdord, recorded a separate video. In it, she says, '"Almost immediately a flight attendant comes up to the guy sitting behind us and says, 'Sir, I need you to put a face mask on that covers your mouth and your nose."
She says the old man refused to comply with the flight attendant's request and was adamant that he did not need a mask and that the shield sufficed.
"He has a face shield on, so he didn't want to wear an additional mask and he was like 'I don't have to wear one,'' said Lansford. "He was not having it.'"
The man in the black shirt apparently had his mom in hospice and lost his cool when the older man refused to put on a mask and potentially delay the flight.
After the scuffle the older man and a woman who appeared to be with him were removed from the plane. The man in the black shirt was allowed to remain on the flight.
