Virginia Man Steals Armored Carrier, Leads Police on 2 Hour Chase (VIDEOS)

An M577 armored personnel carrier from Fort Pickett in Blackstone, VA was stolen on Tuesday, leading Virginia police on a two-hour chase. Police say the suspect, Joshua Yabut of Richmond, was part of a National Guard unit conducting training at Fort Pickett which was how he was able to access the vehicle.

Yabut commandeered the M577 around 8pm and drove on I-95N and entered Richmond. At around 9:40pm, Yabut surrendered to police near the state capitol building. He has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs, eluding police and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

No injuries or damages were reported.
