Subway has announced that eventually it will stop using a chemical in its bread that’s also used in yoga mats and shoe rubber.

You can probably thank the Food Babe, a food blogger (real name Vani Hari) who launched an online petition calling on Subway to remove this chemical, called azodiacarbonamide, used to make dough more elastic.

It's legal in the U-S but banned in Europe as Australia. The World Health Organization links it to respiratory ailments and asthma.

Although Subway claims the change was already underway, the company wouldn’t provide a timeline on when the changes started or when they’d be completed.
