2013 was a bad year for the major airlines and their passengers in terms of reliability.

According to FlightStats, the major carriers had more cancellations and delays than in 2012. Only 78-percent of flights last year were on time, down from 80-percent the year before.

Also up was the number of lost bags. The best airlines of 2013, based on a variety of criteria, were Alaska Airlines and Delta. Coming in at the bottom of the list are United and American.
