Tom Morello is famous for playing in Rage Against The Machine and Prophets of Rage, but the legendary guitarist also played in the E Street Band on and off between 2008 and 2015. On Sunday (April 7), Bruce Springsteen surprised fans by bringing out Morello to play two songs he hadn't performed with the E Street Band in years.

First they took on 2001’s “American Skin (41 Shots)” for the first time since 2017, followed by 1995’s “The Ghost Of Tom Joad,” which the Boss hadn't played with his band since 2016.

"@springsteen & the E Street Band absolutely blew the ever loving house down at the Forum last night with a 3hr 14min tour de force of hope, joy, fury and reflection," Morello wrote in an Instagram post about the evening. "It was an honor to rock 'American Skin (41 Shots)' & 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad' with Bruce and the band."

This marked the first time Morello shared the stage with Springsteen since 2016.

Springsteen kicked off his 2024 tour last month after being forced to postpone shows at the tail-end of 2023 as he recovered from peptic ulcer disease. See his full list of rescheduled tour dates here and check out fan-shot footage of his reunion with Morello below.
