It appears U2 fans will have a new album before it's time to break out the new calendar. Despite rumors saying the Irish rockers were pushing the release to 2015, a spokesman for the band tells Rolling Stone they've "always said an album is expected this year."
The statement seems to be consistent with Bono and company's reported increase in activity lately. They supposedly shot a new music video in France the other week, and the Irish Times quotes a source who says a new single will be out in September.
The same source adds that U2's follow-up to 2009's No Line on the Horizon could be released later that month or in October.
