A Foo Fighters Instagram post has fueled speculation that Joan Jett will front a Nirvana reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The post features Dave Grohl's DW drums, Krist Novoselic's Gibson RD bass, Pat Smear's Fender Stratocaster, and Joan Jett's famous Gibson Melody Maker.

Jett has worked with Dave Grohl before.  She participated in his Sound City documentary that told the story of the recording studio where Nirvana's Nevermind was recorded.  Grohl also collaborated with Jett on her Unvarnished album.

It is possible that Jett will be only one of multiple people to join the band on stage.  R.E.M. front-man Michael Stipe will induct the band.

Grohl and Novoselic will appear on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.  Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Thursday.

The 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death was Saturday.
