Jason Hurley, the man who claimed to be former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, may have been in an STP tribute band.
According to TMZ, Hurley boasted that he attempted to create a cover band called "Stone Tempered Pilots."
Of course, it is difficult to believe TMZ in this scenario. They were the ones who broke the news that Weiland was in prison when, in reality, it was Hurley who was locked up. To be fair to TMZ, Hurley also duped the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Alternative Nation reports that Hurley has also previously bragged about friendships with various musicians. On one Facebook post, Hurley allegedly wrote:
"Ive seen alot of great concerts. Camp Freddy hosted by my buddy Dave Navarro was no exception, Line up inc, Sugar Rays Mark Mcgrath, Courtney Love, Slash ,Billy Idols Steve Stevens, Matt Sorum from the Cult, Velvet Revolver and GNR. This is my Backyard and these are my Family, Not braggin, im used to going to Ozzies House with Sharon bitching in the background, Also very close buddy, Puddle of mudd Wes Scantlin, and Goo Goo dolls singer jonny Reznic. If you have a grain of salt, go ahead and take this with that.
