Ted Nugent Concerts Keep Getting Cancelled
Posted Monday, July 28th 2014 @ 10am

Last week, a Ted Nugent concert at the CDA Casino Resort in Idaho was cancelled.  The casino made the call based on "Nugent's history of racist and hate-filled remarks."

Now, two more Nugent shows at casinos are being cancelled.  Two dates at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington  have been cancelled.  Once again, the casino is citing Nugent's controversial comments.

Nugent has been recording and touring since the 1960's.  He released a string of platinum albums in the late 1970's.  Earlier in July, Nugent released a new album called Shut Up & Jam!

It is unclear precisely what specific remarks the casinos considered when they cancelled the shows.  It is also unclear why they were unaware of Nugent's outspoken comments.

Over the past few years, Nugent has gotten headlines for his political remarks.  He infamously called President Barack Obama a "subhuman mongrel."

Interestingly, those comments led to a dialog with another outspoken guitarist, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine.  Morello's father, like the president's, is Kenyan.

Nugent recently explained to USA Today, "Tom and I, we get into it.  We went round and round about the 'subhuman mongrel' thing.  We had a genuine debate on that, and we ended up, even though it was by e-mail, shaking hands, hugging like we do when we do meet in person, and wishing each other godspeed.  He's an intelligent guy. He makes a good point. And I can't wait to change him."
